Team Losi Street/Rally Weapon Stick Pack Battery Conversion -- a marcweb.net R/C exclusive Unless you have a saddle pack already or are willing to spend the money to make one (and have the soldering skills!), chances are you'll need a way to use cheap, ready-to-use stick packs. The problem is, with the Street/Rally Weapon chassis, room is designated only for saddle-type packs. Here's how you can make your Street/Rally Weapon work with stick packs: Note: All directions are given as though you are standing behind the vehicle. This conversion is not recommended if your motor gets extremely hot under operation. marcweb.net R/C is not responsible for any property damage resultant from use of this article. Step 1: Moving electronics... Remove your electronic speed control from its position on the left side of the chassis. You will need all of this space for the battery. Move the speed control to behind the steering servo after you remove the saddle pack restraint (Step 2). If your speed control gets hot while in use, find some other place to put it where it can get more air. You should leave the receiver on top of the flat part of the belt tunnel. See fig. 1.1 and 1.3. Step 2: Removing saddle-pack restraints... Pop out the body clips that are attacked to the posts on the side of the chassis, and remove the battery restraints from both sides of the chassis. Leave the posts that they were attached to, or at least the post on the left side of the chassis; these posts will secure your battery. Step 3: Route wires... See fig. 1.1 and 1.3 to see how I have routed all of my esc and receiver wires. Be careful around the long steering linkage and steering servo. The battery wires will be at the back of the car, as displayed by the picture, so make sure that you have enough wire to make the connection. Step 4: Installing the battery... Place the end of the battery without the wires against the motor can (see fig. 1.1), and push the battery down so that it is snug between the post and belt tunnel. Make sure that the wired end of the battery is against the rear bulkhead (see fig. 1.2). Tape the wires from the battery to the top of the battery to ensure that they do not get pulled into the rear-drive system (see fig. 1.2). fig. 1.1
